Happy Pikin Festival is annual event hosted by Happy Pikin and Story Mi that introduces kids to great activities thanks to a team of passionate people in Lagos.
In March 2022, we welcomed 200 children and hosted awesome activities such as Reading, Yoga for kids, Film Making, Photography, Boxing, Dancing, Self-defense, Writing, Football. In 2023, we added visual arts, podcast and safe space talks.

Visual Art
Our guided tours of the New Culture Studio delve into its rich history and innovative design, providing a captivating educational experience for the kids from our neighborhood, fostering a deeper connection with their surroundings.
Equipped with paint, paper, and brushes, we encouraged children to unleash their creativity, painting whatever their hearts desired within the welcoming confines of our studio, fostering self-expression and artistic exploration.

Imagining Ibadan in the Future
We use the screening of "Iwaju," a Disney film series set in future Lagos, to spark discussions about envisioning the future of Ibadan with the kids. We explored desired changes, what we want to stay the same, imagine new ways of transport and communication.

Neighbourhood Design - Coming Soon
Future plans include neighborhood design workshops, empowering children to envision and create their ideal community. Fostering a sense of pride and ownership in their surroundings, these activities promote community engagement and creativity.
